We stayed at the Le Meridien hotel during half of our days in Dahab. It opened in late 2007 and the last of the palm trees were still being planted during our February 2008 visit. The room was so well designed, with a taste that matched our own, that we wish we had stayed here throughout our holiday instead of hoping over to the Hilton. The views in all directions were mesmerizing, the red and black of the rock mountain, the shades of blue and green in the sea, the appearance of the Saudi Penninsula across the gulf, particularly just before sunset when the sunlight reflected off the far coast's cliffs.
